Texas Title Companies

Because Texas is a largely rural area many Texas title companies have dealt with land titles. However, Texas has had its share of real estate booms and busts in cities as well. Title companies’ stories have paralleled the stories of Texas real estate developments.

In the 1980s many Texas title companies experienced a roller coaster ride. As the oil industry grew and Dallas became a center for technology and real estate boomed. However, in the mid-to-late 1980s, many financial institutions suffered during the savings and loans crisis which caused a collapse in plans for hundreds of real estate structures.

Because Texas title companies' profits are closely tied to the sales of real estate, title companies saw their worst fears realized. Later they saw a tremendous amount of business during the more recent real estate boom. However, the housing bubble has recently burst again and companies that deal strictly with Texas real estate have a hard time in front of them.
